Very nice!
I'd give this comforter 5 stars except for the fact there are some loose threads and some pilling after the first wash. You'd expect that kind of wear after six washes, not after the first. So I do have doubts about the longevity of the comforter used as a bed cover. The comforter itself is soft and fluffy and feels cool against the skin. I am not even going to cover this with duvet. I wish it came in colors.

Updated 5/2011: Still a fantastic cover after a bunch of washes and continuous use. Still has the initial pilling but nothing much past that. Of course it looks a little grungy because of dogs and kids dragging it around and taking it camping, but I've since put it in a duvet cover. That is a little bit of a wrestling match because it is thick, but I love love love this blankie! Definitely would get this again, still wish it was in colors.

Nice but for a warmer climate
I am experiencing my first Philadelphia winter and I bought this down comforter to keep warm. It's a nice size, lightweight, but not warm enough for me. I am from California, so maybe a wimp when it comes to cold. I now have this, a quilt, a fleece blanket and a sheet and am plenty warm at night.
Bottom line, it's a nice comforter if you're looking for mid-weight. If you're looking for something warmer, I'd get something else.
Perfect in a duvet cover !
This comforter is perfect in my queen duvet cover. It is plenty warm and very soft! Outside of a duvet cover it isn't very attractive looking, so if you are thinking about buying this item I would really recommend looking into a cover for it.

Product Features :

• 250TC 100-percent polyester filled, covering 60-percent cotton,40-percentpolyester
• 8-Inch box stitching to hold fill firmly in place, double-stitched edge
• Oversize and overweight make you very comfortable all season
• This is an ideal comforter to place inside a duvet cover, or use alone

Comfortable and washes well
I got this as it was the only duvet cover big enough for my comforter and in my budget. I have had it for about two months. It Comes with two pillow covers. It has ties in the four corners which prevents the duvet from shifting inside (provided the duvet has loops). The colour (blue) is very nice. I washed it in a cold water cycle and dried it in the dryer, after which it looked and felt fine too. I am not fond of embossed patterns but this seems to fade with use and is not too visible, which i like. I would buy again

WARM even in Chicago winter
Needed a new quilt/comforter, and we keep the house at 58 at night--so I wanted a warm one that didn't cost the earth or a mortgage payment. THIS one was noted as being VERY warm (and allergy resistant since for allergy reasons I cannot do down). IT IS. Bravo. Though it doesn't look heavy and isn't to sleep under, had to turn the heat in the waterbed down to a lower temperature (good for the winter heating bills). Fabulous item for it's price.

Well made, very warm
I chose this to fit a queen-size platform storage bed because I didn't want the sides to overhang below the drawers. It is VERY warm, but not too heavy. Excellant loft. Baffel boxes keep filling from shifting.
Very warm, very puffy, very clean and soft
Did my homework before buying this, had some concerns about non-down but this is very very nice. You will still want an all-cotton duvet cover. Good for people who need a Siberian down type comforter but have money, allergy or pet issues. Me, I like down, but I have a rescue pup with a nervous bladder, and there is NOTHING I can do if the sirens drive by or the alarm goes off. SO....down did not launder well and I don't want to sleep with or pay for all that dry-cleaning solvent.....

You get what you pay for
The name of this product is very misleading: it contains only 5% down. It is also noisy--the lining makes a relatively loud crinkling sound like plastic. This may still go away, I have no idea. Other reviewers report feathers sticking out and poking people after just a few weeks. But it costs 1/10 what a nice down comforter does...so...you get what you pay for. To its credit, it is warm, has nice loft, and is light.

They have changed it!
I ordered one of these last year around Christmas and was very happy with the quality. So much so that I ordered two more this year for my children. The comforter I received this year is nothing like the one last year. It is exactly like the posts that describe it as sewn together sheets with feathers poking out of it! You can feel the plucked feathers everywhere! Yuck! The one from last year is soft, with fine down and not a feather poking anywhere. It is sad that there is such inconsistency in the product.
Heavenly Beds on a Budget
This company, Natural Comfort has to be the best kept secret out there. Whoever you are... BLESS YOU! I love your stuff, loves it! I have to compare this to the overprice Pacific Coast Feather Co. I used to buy their products, but not anymore as long as this one is affordable. This company actually uses GOOSE FEATHER DOWN. A big difference from "feather filled". Down products should be made of goose or duck down and is a soft gentle under feather that looks like a matured dandelion head flying in the breeze. Down feathers are used by the birds is used for bird nesting and insulation for birds to stay warm during cold seasons that's why its such a great product for bedding. Feather filled can be made of many types of fowl feathers... particulary chicken, wild game, turkey or goose from commercial farms and are hard and pointy. Feather filled products will tend to poke out of fabric or feel "hard" under your touch. With this comforter, you get nothing like it. You can tell its real...

• Comfort shell is made of 100% Cotton

• Down Special treatment: Hyper allergenic and odor removal

So beautiful!
I bought a white duvet cover because I loved my white down comforter, but my dog was constantly getting it dirty, and after getting it cleaned for $80 each time, I decide it was time to invest in a duvet cover so I could just throw it in a washer. This is absolutely beautiful, in addition to being so, so soft.

The only slight thing that could be a problem is it is a tiny bit see-through. No problem to me, considering my original comforter was white, but just thought that might not be true for everyone.

Soft sheets, not fancy though
I like this product because I didn't want to overpay for white bedding that could yellow over time. Afterall, it's just white fabric and shouldn't cost too much. This duvet cover is nice, especially for the price. It has ties on each corner which has made making the bed effortless (finally!).
The bottom opening is big enough to put any comforter in, and there are openings next to each corner to assist with tying it into place. It's a little odd that the bottom opening doesn't botton closed, though. It's only 2 or 2.5 feet wide, but I can see my off-white comforter peaking out from time to time. Also, while the cover is really soft, it doesn't live up to the product description. After about 4 washes it's very pilled and likes to attract lint.
almost impossible to place comforter inside duvet
There is a very small slit in the middle of the duvet cover. There are no ties and no other openings. It is almost impossible to push quilt inside the duvet. It took two very tall, strong people a whole lot of time to do that and the quilt still isn't very well placed because of that tiny, tiny opening. I will use it since it is finally covering the down comforter. Then I will replace it with a normal duvet.
If you do need to use the duvet just keep folding the comforter over and over until it is small enough to go inside the duvet slit and then begin the shaking, pushing, etc.

I was worried but this blanket rocks.
I wanted a nice down comforter for a while and decided to scoop one up before this years winter, where my loft gets cold when the temp drops to negative 40(interior Alaska). After reading some of the reviews about a wide variety of real down comforters, I noticed that all seemed to complain about leaking feathers and whatnot so i decided maybe an alternative might be the ticket.
when i saw the symphony of good reviews on this product and its great price + super saver shipping i ordered it. Shopping around town for a duvet cover I came across a down alternative blanket which felt nothing like the real down blanket next to it. I was bummed and wondered why i had order a down alternative so halfheartedly and questioned what i would do with it when i came; if I'd even open the box. When i did come i checked it out and was stoked at how DOWN-LIKE THIS DUVET INSERT REALLY FEELS. I'm not a connoisseur or anything, but I could barley tell the difference. Unlike the other down...

Soft and not pokey!
I just got this in the mail. Not only did it come earlier than the estimate ship date, it came not compacted into a brick but in a nice large box so I didn't have to puff it up with a few beatings. I nearly squealed when I finally put it into my new cute duvet cover... it's perfect. Soft and fluffy, doesn't smell weird like down does, and it doesn't have feathers to fluff around my (small) dorm room. I can't wait for it to get cold outside, this is going to be my haven after studying on those ridiculously chilly nights. I've had a feather duvet insert from Calvin Klein, and they're nearly identical in comfort, minus the crazy feathers. So excited!
To me it feels as nice as the $250+ ones at Bed, Bath & Beyond
You can't beat the value on this comforter. Unlike some of the other reviewers I did not find this comforter to be overly warm and I tend to prefer it a little cooler at night than most. It is comparable to other all-season comforters I've tried in the past.

OK until you wash it
This duvet cover looks nice out of the package. Problem is, it's purpose is to be removable and washable. It comes out of the wash horribly wrinkled and covered with fuzz. And despite a previous review stating that the cover fits nicely over the oversized queen down alternative comforter, it in fact does not. The cover may fit a regular queen comforter, but it is too small for the oversized queen comforter. Find another duvet/comforter cover or else resign yourself to never washing this one because if you do, you'll spend a LOT of time ironing it and picking fuzz off of it every time you wash it.

no closure
Although the cover is of good quality fabric, I was quite disappointed that it has no means of closure on the one side where the comforter is inserted. No buttons, zipper, snaps, etc. I've never seen a duvet without closures.
Love it!
Purchased this duvet cover after searching & searching for one that would fit our new Oversized King Duvet which we also love. [...] "Natural Comfort Soft and Luxurious 300TC Sateen White Down Alternative Duvet Insert"

The duvet cover's dimensions are the closest I could find & seem to fit very well. I love the easy access to the corner ties. I love the look & feel of the cover -- it's soft but also sort of crisp. It's very similar to the nicer hotel duvet covers. We've been using it for about a week & so far I don't have a single complaint.

Not quite what I wanted.
This looks very pretty; maybe slightly darker than the picture shows but I was a little disappointed in the comfort. It has a sorta scratchy feel to the outside - the underneath is soft but top of the duvet is scratchy; this isn't a huge deal as I sleep under it, but my arms are onthe outside of the duvet and I dont like that scratchy feel. Just somethign to be aware of, otherwise its a great product.
