Does the trick
My feather bed kept stabbing me as the little feathers worked their way through. I put this cover on it, and the feathers hardly ever come through. However, the feel of the feather bed is much stiffer, not so soft.

Actually thought I had cancelled this order, but decided to keep it when I examined the merchandise. Gave it as a gift and the recipient loves it.
A very good cover for featherbed.
I bought this for the guest room and haven't used it yet.
The cotton seems a good/medium weight and I really like
the zipper closure, the best.
